Cookie Policy

Last updated: 13 July 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Cirtech Electronics (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the Cirtech Academy learning platform (the “site”). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

We use cookies in a way that respects your privacy. Non-essential cookies are switched off until you choose to allow them, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences (such as your cookie choices), help it work properly, and – where you allow it – help us understand how the site is used. Similar technologies such as local storage and pixels work in comparable ways; in this policy we refer to all of them as “cookies”.

How we ask for your consent

When you first visit the site, a banner lets you Accept all, Reject non-essential cookies, or Manage your choices per category. Strictly necessary cookies are always on because the site cannot work without them. All other cookies are only set once you opt in.

You can change your mind at any time by clicking the “Cookie settings” button on the site, which reopens your preferences. Your choice is remembered for 180 days so that we do not ask on every visit.

The cookies we use

Cirtech Academy is a private learning environment for Cirtech Electronics staff and partners. At present it uses only strictly necessary cookies – it does not load any analytics, advertising or third-party marketing cookies.

Strictly necessary (always on)

Required for the site to work – for example signing in to your account, keeping your session secure, submitting forms and remembering your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off.

Cookie Provider Purpose Category Expires
site_consent Cirtech Academy (first-party) Stores your cookie preferences so we do not have to ask again Strictly necessary 180 days
wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_* Cirtech Academy (first-party) Keep you signed in and verify your session while you use the platform Strictly necessary Session (up to 14 days if “remember me” is used)
wp-settings-* Cirtech Academy (first-party) Remember display preferences within your account area Strictly necessary 1 year

If we introduce functional features (such as embedded videos or maps), analytics, or marketing in future, those cookies will be listed here and will remain optional and subject to your consent through the cookie banner.

Managing your preferences

  • On this site: click “Cookie settings” at any time to change which categories you allow.
  • In your browser: you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, including signing in, from working.
  • If you clear your cookies or the consent cookie expires after 180 days, we will ask for your preferences again.

Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to object to certain processing. Where GDPR applies, you also have rights to data portability and to restrict processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact our Information Officer at info@cirtech-electronics.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, ask for your consent again.
